Nice and thick and with my desk chair it is easy to glide. I am how ever close to 260 pounds and find that when I want to move after having sat in one place for some time I have to give myself a extra shove to get out of the divots the wheels make in the mat. One other thing is that when it was delivered it was folded and very stiff. Since it was still warm out I placed the mat on the card board it came in and placed it on my deck and after an hour or so in the sun it had flattened and I placed it at my desk. The divots go away also so I always have a smooth surface to glide on.Well it's less than 4 years later, and finally, a huge gouge / hole broke through the mat, about 3in x 1.5in wide. It's been in the same spot, mostly used by my son in a gaming chair (he's not super aggressive when he plays) in my home who could never have weighed more than 160lbs at any given moment over the past few years. It started to crack, and then finally gave with the huge gauging hole - I had to duck tape after my son's foot got cut in the hole when the chunk separated. It seemed well made at first, but anything rated for 400lbs with normal use of a person not even close to 50% the rating should have lasted years longer.Interesting floor mat. Got this for my home office on a carpeted room. This is for a 400 lb person and I at 175, so it should last a very long time for me. Although I'm in it sometimes as long a 10 hrs other times just a couple. It looks thick and tough so I hope it does the job. The last mat I had (I got it from my brother) lasted about 12 years.....Hi to all who will read this review; First I bought this product from * BisonOffice * I recieved it in 3 days don't know where it shipped from but got it in 3 days. Price was very good. Now the Matt Can't get a better Chair Matt any type of carpet, good for med to high pile carpets. It's so nice and thick your chair glides accross it. From the time I placed it on the floor it has not moved a fraction of an inch, not one bit. Love this Matt you will also.So you will find BisonOffice to the right side of the product page. BargeI purchased this mat because it is supposed to be for medium to high pile carpet, mine's medium, and good for up to 400 lbs., I'm 6' 4" @ 250 on a 35lb chair. The first chairmat arrived in a paper thin piece of cardboard and was broken. The second one arrived in paper thin cardboard but survived shipment intact. I put the mat on the carpet and put my chair on the mat and left. When I came back, the chair had already created dents in the mat. After sitting in the chair for 5 minutes, it's impossible to roll the chair without having to push on the desk and rock back and forth to get out of the deep dents in the mat. Unfortunately I cannot do without a chair mat right now so I'll just wait until this weak piece of junk breaks and then try to find one that actually works on medium to high pile carpet. It's so huge that it's really impossible to return or I would have just returned it. Upon unpacking it, the mat seemed like it should work. it was rigid and had quite a nice finish so the thin cardboard shipping wrap went into the recycle bin. Unless you are really light AND have only a low pile carpet, I would say you should avoid this mat.Arrived in time and seems to be a good product. Not as thick as I had hoped for. Only time will tell if it will hold up on my medium pile carpet. (It's rated for high pile). I weigh under 200 lbs but I'm getting some fairly deep impressions where my chair sits on this chairmat. I can't imagine what it would be like if I weighed closer to the 400 lbs this product is supposed to be able to handle.It works as advertised. I have no idea regarding its durability but after about a month of use I find no cracking or chipping. This mat is fairly thick. I'm a big guy and I wanted something that could withstand a lot of weight. So far, so good. I don't regret my purchase. I won't rate it for 5 stars until I use it for at least 6 months.not bad, I like that it came in one piece without unfolding it and adding a hundred pounds on it to make it straight, but I can see already, the weight you put on it will grove the mat where the wheels of the chair sit, make it stronger if you can, then it will be perfect.
