I can’t rate durability or comfort until winter gets here but it looks solid and seems all day comfortable. What I can offer is a comment on sizing. I normally wear a large jacket but after reading reviews I was concerned about sizing so ordered a medium and it was the right call. I’m 6’-0” and 165 lbs. I like a snugger fit since our winter climate doesn’t require any more than a light shirt under a jacket.Fit perfectly. Though Carhartt has gone down in the material quality of their B-11 Black Jeans. The Carhartt Men's Duck Detroit Jacket is maintaining the same quality as before.Very nice jacket. Fits perfect. I'm 187 pounds and 5.97 feet.Sleeves are 1.5 inch too long.Nice coatGreat buy on a carhartt jacket. Fit is true to form and jacket is as described. Shipping was quick and price was excellent.I purchased 3 to find one with minimal stitching errors that I could live with. Apparently some of the seamstress’s at Carhartt don’t take pride in their work. The first one I received clearly should have been marked a second. A shame considering what Carhartt once represented. Some people don’t like the updated Detroit pattern. I like the dropped tail but would like side adjusters like the old one. This Detroit fits more snug than other Carhartt size large jackets / coats I’ve owned. I use it when a jean jacket isn’t enough and a winter coat is too much.Bought this jacket for working in and for day to day casual wear. Without washing it it was the perfect length for my torso. I also have some decently long arms. It shrunk a bit through a normal wash but not dramatically. It also lost some color and faded a little. But none the less it keeps me warm and also helps me keep the crap and muck off me. I will say this makes a good jacket, I just wished they kept the old cuff style and comes with the hoodie attachment.Firstly, no complaints about the quality of the jacket, and to say it seems durable is an understatement, I think this jacket would last forever! Before purchasing, I looked at the table and saw that most people said it was true to size, so went for an XL.If I were to wear this jacket with just a t- shirt, it would be way too loose, but as it's a winter jacket, I'll be wearing layers with it, so it'll be fine. If you do intend to wear it with just a t-shirt or similar, then consider a size smaller, BUT(!), if you have a fair sized belly, I don't know if the smaller size would accommodate that. Also, the arms are long, I think I have normal length arms, but the sleeves are long, but again with a pair of gloves on, they'll be fine, and I'm sure they'll ride up with wear(as Mr Humphrey's might say!).Finally, it's a shame the waist doesn't have a cinch cord or similar to adjust the waist, as the waist size on the XL is generous.Overall, a lovely jacket, and well worth the money. A shame Amazon don't stock the matching hood.I am quite slim, 177cm tall, 69Kg with an 38.5" chest, so I hoped the Small would have been a good fit and in fact, it even exceeded my expectations. The jacket looks almost tailored on me with still room for moderate layering (it is not warm enough for winter). The jacket is luckily slightly longer than expected since the waist sits at mid-zip covering my jeans front pockets, the intelligent drop hem at the back covers my butt when, for example, cycling. The sleeves are comfortably long and black-quilt lined. The jacket itself looks very good quality, well made (YKK zips..) and certainly durable, I don't care if it's not exactly like the one in that movie etc. I think that for £100 this jacket is a great value.I really wanted this jacket based on seeing Mathew McConnaughey wearing it in the film Interstellar. I need a good strong work jacket that looked good but was functional and robust. I had read lots of reviews about the sizing issues and that it wasn’t as good as the old version (which McConnaughey wore). I was also worried that it would be too nice to wear for work. Here goes:I got a medium when I normally take a large which fits nicely except the waistline bulges out massively. No adjustment tabs or cord. Need to have a BIG belly for this not to flare out. The “tail” on the back of the jacket is very pronounced- more than I thought it would be from the pics. This added to the large waistline makes me feel I look silly. However if I wear a big hoody underneath the fit is snugger but makes it really just a winter coat. The zip is pathetic. Really small and feeble and I know it will break soon. The material is a lot thinner than my other Carhartt items but is supposedly the same 12oz cloth.Item comes from Germany and you have to pay for returns so I was very worried for the three weeks it took to arrive that it wouldn’t be the right size. The collar is very stiff and refuses to lie flat.In short I would not recommend this jacket.Get a Carhartt Active Jacket instead. I’ve just had one arrive and it’s fab. This Detroit jacket will be just for work I’m afraid.Vorweg: Ich bin begeistert. Klare Empfehlung: 10/10.Great jacket, huge though. As in huge. For reference, I am 6ft2 and wear an xl usually, I wear a medium in this and the fit is great but seriously, bear that in mindGreat jacket, absurd sizing hence the 4 stars
